I, as a spiritual and religious person, have gone into dark nights of the soul. I will explain my journey to help you. First, I want to explain that your thought process as a 20-year-old to my age 52. It should change: it changes with what you will tolerate, or simply not being drama around you. Finding peace in chaos. or simply being one with nature. Being your true, authentic self. No hidden agendas or thoughts of the past.
In my 20's I was in Jasper, Alberta. I did horseback riding on trails, kayaking, in the glaciers, camping, and skiing in the mountains. The energy from the Jasper National Park. From my 20s was breathing in all that nature has to offer. It was a wake-up up of energy to play and be around people and have fun. I was releasing my inner child energy that did not serve me, that I was carrying in my childhood and my younger years, to show me that life has beauty and energy. If you release and take it all in.
It was not till my 50s that if you put me back there, I would be releasing not with lots of activity but quiet hiking or gathering of nature. My energy would be about breathing and listening to the sounds of nature, and releasing with great thanks and blessings. I would be more aware of animals around me and spiritual gifts in front of me. Definitely having light-hearted people with a quiet journey to explore the surroundings. In peace and tranquillity.
This does not happen without going through the dark night of the soul. Dark Night of the Soul is a stage of final and complete purification. This is a time of dark night, you may experience confusion, helplessness, stagnation of your will power, or a sense of withdrawal of even your spirit team or gods' presence. It is a period to "unselfing" and surrender to go within to see your patterns and how you make people feel, and your purpose in life.
Please be clear that you will not be in depression, but depressed from a spiritual connection. Some may argue this, but this is my own personal experience. There are stages of the Dark Night of the Soul:
Major disruption or triggering events. Sometimes this is the death of a loved one or betrayal, abuse, or even loss of a job.
Loss of direction and hope. Simply, the life you have been living is meaningless during this stage.
Rock Bottom. You may become emotionally numb, lose friends and family, isolate, or become numb even through addictions during this time.
Waking up the truth. It is a climb-up curve motion. In this stage, you will be ready to face "what is" instead of running away from it, and wake up to the greater meaning of your life. and it all.
Spiritual Study: Is a first-hand look at the patterns and life choices that spiritually guided you to this point. To see truly what you are meant to live. That knowledge of why things happened becomes clearer.
Authentic Living: This is where you change yourself to find inner peace, understanding and wholeness again that you previously felt lost. Turning pain into wisdom and moving forward to gather more light in your life.
The key to all of this is not to run away from yourself. Release why old patterns and addictions came into play. Break free of the mindset that life is giving yourself alignment and awareness, peace, and heart-based happiness again.
Depending on where you are in your journey, the key I have learned is to go back to your first basic memory that does not leave you and take a look at yourself now. Tell yourself what happened, why it happened, but what the lesson did to make you stronger or understand people better.
One of the key things why we go through this. Think about what if my person or the one I am with is going to see me at my best and love me at my worst. My growth will show them that I am learning to better person for myself. If I deteriorate, or will they extend my growth and knowledge in life? Will they stay or go? That depends on if the lesson they gave or the feeling you had is with you spiritually to uplift or take down, meaning what relationship has given you for growth, and did you learn the lesson. For them to stay or move on.
If one person comes in is enriching to reach my higher self. Then they will stay and grow with you. That is the inner self to decide. You can only be the answer to that one thought if you're ready enough to embark on the level in which this person's energy vibrates or has healed themselves. You will know without a matter of doubt that person is the one for the rest of your life.
What if she/he has come in and out, and you were not ready? Their guides pulled them back until your ready. What if they have done their own life's work and want to bring you more peaceful surroundings? You being in a tower moment could take them back down. Feelings of your growth being at a standstill or not healing properly. If you both have healed and started to come out of the dark Knight of the soul, then you would both take on your purpose and enrich each other. If they have not had growth, their selfish needs would be evident and clear. Do not go back down in your healing, but set boundaries up and let them wait to figure out their own mindset and clarity.
Then only then would you open to them again. Or would you hide yourself? Then you can determine how ready you are. If they are meant to be in your life, no matter how much time has passed, they would open up to you. If they are not, they would walk away. You have to do yourself a valuable favor to be open to showing yourself. In all forms because that person was designated to bring you that peace of life to fulfill you. No, one should cry and wait for change. You may be missing out on the next person to bring all of this to you.
Note: Try these to determine how to conduct the Dark Knight of the Soul. Play music, meditate, take Nature Walks, or write a journal, and believe that you are going to find that person or piece in your life to uplift you and make you feel complete. You just have to believe and pray.
Because one day you will wake up and feel. Happy, refreshed, and full of trying things that you held back. Then you know you made it through the dark knight of the soul. Ready to tackle the world with a deeper meaning and enrichment.
If you're not, and it's been a long time. Then you are not really taking a deep look at yourself and your life's purpose. Those who are waiting to enrich their lives are held back.
Many people have different thoughts on this. Unfortunately, people do not understand that they will go into this dark place because they are to learn the lesson or change a behaviour or thought process that does not serve them anymore.
As I am typing this, listening to What a Feeling -Alex D'Rosso, Spirits will bring songs, numbers, and messages to guide you out. Believe that everyone goes through this in their lifetime. You are not the only one. You are the only you. You are the one to change the direction to continue on your life path with a happier and healthier you.
